Every National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) human space flight since 1968 has been launched from the Kennedy Space Center, one of the biggest attractions in Florida. Kids can explore space shuttle Atlantis, witness an actual rocket launch, simulate a space walk, enjoy space-themed play area and, if they're lucky, can lunch with an astronaut.

It is the official visitor center for Johnson Space Center, NASA’s center for research and training. Visitors can check out space vehicles, astronaut gear, training facilities and laboratories. There are opportunities to touch lunar rocks and have lunch with an astronaut. The center also has programs such as “Meet an Astronaut Day” in which astronauts meet and interact with public and share details about their previous missions.
US SPACE & ROCKET CENTER – HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA, US
One of the best manned spaceflight museums in the world, it serves as the official visitor destination for Marshall Space Flight Center. The museum is home to numerous space vehicles as well as 1,500 space exploration artifacts. Kids can participate in camps related to space, robotics and aviation.
HONG KONG SPACE MUSEUM – HONG KONG
One of the most famous museums in the country, it includes a space theater and two thematic exhibition halls. Apart from regular planetarium shows, the museum educates visitors through extension activities, such as an astronomy carnival, astronomy competitions and lectures.
PETER HARRISON PLANETARIUM – LONDON, UK
The planetarium is one of the most technologically advanced in Europe. It can seat 120 people and is equipped with state-of-the-art digital laser projectors. Most of the shows here are narrated by astronomers.
SMITHSONIAN NATIONAL AIR AND SPACE MUSEUM – WASHINGTON, DC, US
The museum is a wonderland for people interested in space travel. Home to the retired Discovery space shuttle, the museum has a large fleet of vehicles and space-related objects. Visitors can enjoy a number of planetarium shows in the Albert Einstein Planetarium along with lectures and educational tours.
GRIFFITH OBSERVATORY – LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, US
The observatory handles hundreds of thousands of visitors every year and is one of the most popular attractions among astronomy fans. It offers public telescope viewing and organizes star parties every month where people can look at planetary objects and chat with amateur astronomers.
INTREPID SEA, AIR & SPACE MUSEUM – NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK, US
This floating museum is actually an 898-foot (274 meters) long aircraft carrier docket at Pier 86 on Manhattan’s West Side. Apart from being home to the space shuttle Enterprise, the museum also boasts numerous authentically restored aircraft.
HAYDEN PLANETARIUM – NEW YORK CITY
A part of the American Museum of Natural History, Hayden Planetarium organizes star shows and offers public presentations from scientists. There also are live sky talks every month.
GALILEO GALILEI PLANETARIUM – BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA
The 360-seat planetarium is serving the public since 1968. Apart from watching the shows about stars and distant galaxies, visitors can also check out the 3,370 lb (1,530 kg) metal meteorite found in 1965 and lunar rock from the Apollo XI mission.

The museum is the largest private, non-profit air and space museum in the world. It holds a comprehensive fleet of over 150 aircraft and space vehicles. It also offers learning programs in the field of science, technology and humanities
JAMES S. MCDONNELL PLANETARIUM – ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, US
The state-of-the-art planetarium is a part of St. Louis Science Center. It holds two spacecrafts — Mercury capsule and Gemini capsule — as well as a real meteorite that visitors can touch.
MEMORIAL MUSEUM OF COSMONAUTICS – MOSCOW, RUSSIA
Inaugurated in 1981, the museum is a one-of-a-kind spot for space lovers. Polished titanium (one of the components of a rocket) was used in the construction of this monument, which was opened to commemorate completion of 20 years of first ever space flight (manned) taken by Yuri Gagarin.
