A very muscular kangaroo has been spotted
taking a dip in a river in Western Australia.
The giant boomer
was pictured having a splash in the Boodjidup Creek, in Margaret River, about
four hours south of Perth.
The majestic
marsupial offered a defiant expression as it stood in waist-deep water and
looked straight down the lens of the camera, its arm and chest muscles bulging
Multiple
photos of the rare event were shared to Facebook on Wednesday and quickly
attracted more than 850 likes and nearly 3,000 shares.
More than 600
people commented on the bizarre occurrence, with many people expressing
disbelief at the animal's physique.
The kangaroo
appeared a bit off-put that his river bath had been interrupted, sporting a
rather displeased look as it glared at the human intruders.
Many pointed out
the buck's impressive physique and its threatening stance, despite most of its
body being submerged.
'Wow, what a
brilliant powerful roo. Look at his paws and claws. Have you ever seen a roo
that big,' one social media user wrote.
Another put
themselves in the kangaroo's place, writing: 'Are you right mate!! I’m trying
to have a bath here, fair dinkum.'
Some speculated
the photographer's pet dog had chased the creature into the river.
It was also
suggested bucks used standing in water as a tactic to entice dogs towards them,
making it easy for them to plan an attack.
Others pointed out
the strangely human exoression on the animal's face.
